CNAG has submitted its application to obtain the HR Excellence in Research award, granted by the European Commission. As part of this process, and following our endorsement of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers on 20 December 2024, we submitted the Action Plan for 2026-2029 on 13 January 2025. This plan includes a set of actions to align our policies and practices with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers, reinforcing our commitment to fostering an open, inclusive and supportive environment for researchers at all stages of their careers.
The HR Excellence in Research award is part of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), an initiative of the European Commission within the framework of the European Research Area (ERA), launched in 2000. The European Charter for Researchers is a key document developed within this initiative. Its 20 principles aim to set a framework to improve working conditions, promote professional development and ensure open, transparent and merit-based recruitment processes, while supporting the mobility and attraction of research talent across Europe.
By adopting these principles and implementing the measures set out in the Action Plan, CNAG is working to align its people management policies and practices with European standards in research. Obtaining the HR Excellence in Research award would represent an important milestone for CNAG and would reflect our commitment to fostering an environment that promotes good working conditions, professional development, and the mobility and attraction of research talent at European level.
