Deadline:
Jun 10, 2022
Description:

The Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG-CRG) is one of the largest Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. CNAG-CRG researchers participate in major International Genomic Initiatives such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC) and the European Infrastructure for life-science information (ELIXIR), as well as in several EU-funded projects.

It is integrated with the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' logo from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

The role

We are looking for highly dynamic and proactive person with a PhD degree and postdoctoral experience to join our Structural Genomics Lab headed by Marc A. Marti-Renom and hosted at the CNAG and Gene Regulation, Stem Cells and Cancer programs of the CNAG-CRG.

We are currently looking for candidates with a PhD with at least four years of post-doctoral experience in structural genomics. The candidate will need to demonstrate experience in wet lab technologies to study the genome in its third-dimension. Those include, but not limited, to 3C-based technologies, RNA-seq and ChIP-seq. The candidate should have also a solid experience in cell biology and able to work with tissue derived samples. Knowledge on how to analyze the resulting genomics datasets is also necessary. Finally, experience in microscopy-based approaches will be a plus.

Please, visit our web site at http://marciuslab.org to grasp the type of projects you could be involved by joining our Team. For all publications from the group please visit http://sgt.cnag.cat/www/publications/ .

About the team

Our group at the National Center for Genomic Analysis - Centre for Genomic Regulation (CNAG-CRG) develops and uses experimental and computational approaches for characterizing the molecular regulation of cells by studying the structure of macromolecules and their complexes. In particular, we focus on regulatory molecules such as RNA and chromatin.

Our group (http://sgt.cnag.cat/www/people) is very interdisciplinary (the team has been composed by biologists, biochemists, physicists, architects, mathematicians, statisticians, pharmacists, molecular biologists, and geneticists, among others), young (http://sgt.cnag.cat/www/people/?lab_pics), international and dynamic. We are committed to make the stay of our people as fun as possible while enjoying science. If you like such environment, apply to this position.
